Context

India is more than just a country. It is an ever-growing tree that encompasses a vast cultural and historical diversity. The roots that anchor this tree of heterogeneity are festivals. To celebrate them is to keep one’s culture alive. Apart from their immense religious and spiritual significance, they also forge a sense of common identity and unity among the people from which Hindu society is no exception. They are a much needed outlet to temporarily escape from our stressful lives these days.

Target Audience

Individuals in the 25-40 age bracket

Problem

Cultural festivals are relevant even today and will continue to be so in the future, though the traditonal practices may evolve with time. But Modernization and globalization has taken over our country and every single action has become commercialized. There is an erosion of cultural values because of which festivals are no longer celebrated with the pomp, gaiety and core significance of those festivals. The growing trend of young people moving out of their homes to greener pastures is also isolating them from celebrating the festivals back home thus losing their identity.

Objective

The aim of the project is to keep our cultural festivals & their traditions/practices alive by looking for a medium/instrument to pass on this knowledge to the target audience in a form that is easily accessible and usable to them.
